Yamunotri Temple




Yamunotri Temple is situated in the western region of Garhwal Himalayas. It lies at a height of 3235 m. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, the river Goddess. The deity of the temple is made of black marble. The temple was built by Maharani Gularia of Jaipur in the 19th century. A hot sulphur spring pond is situated at Yamunotri close to the temple. The shrine attracts pilgrims in large numbers from May to October.

Nearest Airport is Jolly Grant, 196 km from Yamunotri via Dehradun. It is about 205 km from Rishikesh.
