Virabhadrasana II




Virabhadrasana II, named after Lord Shiva, boosts stamina, strengthens legs and ankles, stimulates abdominal organs, and stretches the groins, chest, lungs and shoulders. This asana is suggested for women during second trimester of pregnancy to reduce backaches.

The preparatory poses of this asana include Baddha Konasana, Supta Padangusthasana, Utthita Trikonasana and Vrksasana. Subsequent poses consists of Bakasana, Utthita Trikonasana and Vrksasana.
