Velinga




Velinga is in the western region of Ponda taluk, in North Goa District. It is bounded by Madkai (2 km) in the west, Mardol (3 km) in the north, Priol (2 km) in the east and Bandora (2 km) in the south. Ponda, the taluk headquarters, is nearly 5 km south.

Shri Lakshminarsimha Temple, located on the side of a steep, densely wooded hill, is a prominent temple in Velinga. Other famous shrines in the neighborhood include Shri Mahalasa Narayani Temple, the 16th century Mangueshi Temple, Shree Nagesh Maharoudra Temple and Shri Shantadurga Temple.

Goa Airport and Verna Railway Station serve Velinga. National Highway 4A passes close by. The place is well-linked with the nearby places by road.
