Vaithisvarankoil

Vaithisvarankoil is a temple town in Nagapattinam District of Tamil Nadu. It lies on the right bank of Cauvery River and is famous for an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva named Vaitheeswaran Kovil.

Vaithisvarankoil is around 50 km north-east of Kumbakonam and 24 km south of Chidambaram. Vithisvarankol Railway Station is on the Mayiladuthurai - Sirkazhi rail route. Tiruchirapalli Airport is the nearest airport.
