Taleswar Temple




Taleswar Temple is an ancient shrine located at Bhubaneswar in Khordha District of Orissa. Over a raised base to a height of about 4 m, this temple is 'pancharatha' in plan.

This beautiful temple is believed to have been built during the Bhaumakara rule. The sculptural style and architectural features indicate it to be of the 8th-9th century. The temple conforms to the Rekha order of Kalingan style of temple architecture.

Bhubaneswar Railway Station, located at Master Canteen Square in the city center, is the nearest railhead. Alternatively one can also opt for the Bhubaneswar Bus Station, situated at Barmunda (8 km from the city centre).
