Surting is a picturesque hamlet situated 21 km from
Thangi in Kinnaur District, Himachal Pradesh. It lies at an altitude of about 3,370 m on the Kinnaur Kailash-Baspa Valley trek route. The village is at the confluence of two mountain river streams. Apple orchards can be seen around the village.
Nearby tourist destinations include
Charang Monastery, Kalpa, Chitkul,
Lalanti, Sangla and
Lambar. Surting is an ideal base for trekking. Base camps are available.
The nearest railway station and airport are at Shimla.
