Charang




The picturesque hamlet of Charang is situated 16 km from Lambar in Kinnaur District, Himachal Pradesh. It lies at an altitude of about 3,700 m on the Kinnaur Kailash-Baspa Valley trek route. Charang falls on the Indo-Nepal border. The village is surrounded by meadows and rocks, Charang offers enchanting views of snow-capped peaks. Charang Temple (Rangrik Monastery) is the main attraction here. Nearby tourist destinations include Kalpa, Karchham, Chitkul, Lalanti, Charang Pass, Moorang (Morang), Sangla and Thangi. Charang is an ideal base for trekking. Base camps are available. The nearest railway station and airport are at Shimla.
