Sumdu




Sumdu is a charming village situated 18 km from Milam in Pithoragarh District. It lies on the Ralam Valley - Birje Ganga Pass trek route. River Gori flows close by. Sumdu nestles among thick forests of rhododendron, meadows and birch. It offers magnificent views of peaks such as Rajrambha Peak, Chaudhara Peak, Nanda Devi Peak and Suitilla Peak. Nearby tourist destinations include Ralam (11 km), Tola, Dumar, Munsiyari, Lilam, Rargari and Martoli. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Base camps are available.

The nearest airport is Pant Nagar Airport and the nearest railway station is at Kathgodam.
