Sri Kumara Kottam Temple

Sri Kumara Kottam Temple is located between the Ekambareshwar Temple and the Kamakshi Amman Temple, in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Lord Muruga.

In honour of Lord Muruga, the sacred Kanda Puranam was created by the saintly scholar Kachiappa Sivachariyar. According to myth, the god installed himself in the sanctum in the Creator (Brahmasasta) form in the temple.

The charming paintings, on the walls of the temple in the inner periphery around the sanctum, feast the eyes of devotees. The scholar saint Arunagirinathar has glorified this temple through his pathigams.

The temple holds two festivals namely the Skanda Shashti, held in the month of October or November, and the Vaisaka Festival in April or May.

Sri Kumara Kottam Temple is about 0.5 km from Kanchipuram Bus Station.
