Silyara

Silyara is located in Tehri Garhwal District of Uttaranchal. It is about 25 km east of New Tehri.

Bhagirathi River has its course through the area. The place is closely associated with the Chipko Movement. Sunderlal Bahuguna, the architect of the movement, runs the Chipko Information Center from the ashram in Silyara.

The nearest railway Station and airport are at Dehradun.
