Set at an elevation of 9,698 ft, Shol is a town in
Doda District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It is around 160 km from
Jammu and 17 km from Chishot.
Arthal and Chito lie in the northern and southern part of Shol within 5 km. It is a comfortable base for trekkers and mountaineers who are on their trail to the Great Himalayas. The Chenab flows through this region.
Shol can be reached on a trek from Ishata towards Atholi (2,225 m). By road, Shol is accessible from Dharwas, Kishtwar and Doda.
