Seva Kunja

A sacred garden

Seva Kunja is the holy place of Krishna's rasa dance. It is the place where Lord Krishna is believed to have massaged Radharani’s feet and decorated her hair with flowers. Here, Krishna danced rasa-lila with Radha and the gopis. There is a small temple here called Ranga Mahal which is dedicated to Radha and Krishna. It is said that Krishna pushed the ground here with his feet and created a small kunda, called Lalita Kunda, to satisfy Lalita Sakhi’s thirst. It is about 30m (100 ft) from the entrance. There is also an ancient Tamala Tree here where Krishna is said to have wiped some butter off his hands. Seva Kunja is open from 7 am to 12:30 pm and 3:30 to 6 pm.
