Rilkot




Rilkot is a picturesque village situated 11 km from Munsiyari in Pithoragarh District. It lies at an elevation of about 3,200 m. The village has ruins reminiscent of the history of the ancient Indo-Tibetan trade. River Gori flows close by. Rilkot nestles among the thick forests of rhododendron and juniper. The place offers fascinating views of the Nanda Devi Peak, Martoli Peak and Trisuli I Peak. Nearby interesting destinations include Panchachuli Glacier, Namik Glacier, Ralam Glacier, Munsiyari, Lilam, Rargari, Martoli (3,385 m) and Sarpudyar. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Base camps are available here.

The nearest airport is Pant Nagar Airport and the nearest railway station is at Kathgodam.
