Raja Harsh ka Tila




Located in Thanesar, Haryana, Raja Harsh ka Tila is a beautiful mound with a fort in the interiors. An ancient site, it is 15 meters high. A series of culture ranging from the Kushana to the Mughal periods were revealed from here during the excavations.

The most significant discovery of the Gupta period is brick structures associated with Red Polished Ware and that of the Kushanas is painted grey ware shreds. Several structural remains and antiquities of the Indo-Islamic period were also unearthed from here, prominent being a garden complex believed to be of the Mughal era.

The nearest airport and railhead are at Chandigarh and Kurukshetra respectively. Bus services are available from Kurukshetra to reach here.
