Pumlen Lake




Locally known as Pumlen Pat, Pumlen Lake is a major freshwater wetland situated in Thoubal District. The main sources of water are from the precipitation and indirectly from the Sekmai and the Imphal Rivers. Total catchment is about 19 sq km. The lake is covered by a large heterogeneous floating soil vegetation mat, the phumdis.

Pumlen Lake is about 40 km from Imphal.
