Prashar Lake

Prashar Lake, a beautiful lake, 40 km from Mandi town, is situated in the district Mandi of Himachal Pradesh. It is 2730 m above the sea level and the deep blue waters of the lake add to the natural beauty of the land. The lake side offers a great view of the snow-draped peaks. This lake is considered sacred to the sage Prashar, who is believed to have meditated here. In memory of this great sage, a three-tiered Pagoda-like temple has been built on its bank. The nearby villages and the lakesides are the venues of the festivals that are celebrated at different times of the year.
