Situated in West Sikkim District, Phalut is a picturesque village located 21 km from Sandakphu. It is perched at an elevation of 3,600 m, on the trek route of Singalia Ridge. Phalut offers panoramic views of mountain ranges and deep valleys. The village nestles among forests of rhododendrons and magnolias. Nearby places to visit are Tammam, Gorkhey, Rammam and Rimbick. Trekking and mountaineering are arranged here. Accommodation is available in lodges.

The nearest airport is at Bagdogra in West Bengal. The nearest railway station is at New Jalpaiguri.
