Patteeshwaram,alternately spelt Patteeswaram, is situated 6 km southwest of Kumbakonam in Thanjavur District, on the Thanjavur - Melattur road. Prime attractions are the Patteeswaram Durga Temple and Patteeshwarar Temple. Patteeshwaram is a Shivasthalam in Tamil Nadu and has many prosperous Shaivite maths. Patteeshwaram is also associated with Govinda Deekshitar, minister of Achyuta and Raghunatha Nayak, rulers of Thanjavur during the 16th and early 17th centuries.

Nearby attractions are Darasuram and Satthi Mutram.

Nearest airport is at Tiruchirapalli, 95 km away from Kumbakonam and nearest railway station is Kumbakonam Railway Station.
