Pandukeshwar




Pandukeshwar is a beautiful hamlet in Chamoli District, Uttaranchal. It lies at an altitude of 6300 ft above sea level. National Highway connecting Badrinath and Govindghat passes nearby. The village is around 24 km from Joshimath and is well connected by road with Chamoli.

The village is believed to have been established by King Pandu, father of the Pandavas. Yogadhyan Badri Temple, a highly revered shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is a major attraction here. Panth, Mata Murti Temple, Mana Village and Alka Puri are within a short distance from here.

Pandukeshwar is easily accessible by local buses and taxies from Joshimath and Chamoli. The nearest railway station is at Rishikesh. Jolly Grant Airport serves this area.
