Nayachar

Nayachar is a muddy lonely island stretched over 40 sq km, on the Hooghly River bed in Midnapore District. It is one of the most popular destinations in the vicinity of Haldia port city, which is now renowned for establishing the world's largest prawn production center. One can enjoy the serenity of this place by taking a boat ride around it. An aquaculture project is being developed here, which would become another prime tourist attraction of this area. There also exists a guest house owned by the Kolkata Port Trust to facilitate the guests.
