Masjid Baba Dawood Khaki




Masjid Baba Dawood Khaki is one of the oldest mosques located at Reshi Bazar in Anantnag town, Jammu and Kashmir. This ancient mosque dates back to over 600 years. It is named after Hazarat Sheikh Baba Dawood Khaki, the chief disciple of Hazarat Sheikh Hamaza Qazi of Kashmir. The construction work was carried out in three sections. Mir Mohd Hamdani, the son of Shah Hamdan in 1397 completed the ground floor of the mosque. Baba Dawood Khaki undertook the construction of the first floor of the mosque in 987 Hijri (1579 AD) and the second floor was completed in 1582. The body of the saint is buried by the side of the grave of Hazart Sheikh Hamaza Mukhdoom Sahib.
