Kuntaleswarar Temple




Kuntaleswarar Temple is located at Kurakkukka near Mayiladuthurai in Nagapattinam District. This pre-historic temple was renovated in 1970. Legend has it that the temple was built by Lord Hanuman after being blessed by Lord Shiva. The specialty of this temple is that during the summer months, monkeys enter the sanctum and make offerings of flowers to the deity. The Vaideeswaran Koyil and Karuppariyalur temple are situated nearby.
