Kanol




Kanol is a picturesque village situated 10 km from Wan in Chamoli District. It is located at an altitude of 2,750 m and lies on the Nanda Devi Trek route. Kanol nestles among thick forests of rhododendron. The Nandakini River flows close by. The village houses are made up of stone and slate. The place offers a majestic view of the Trisul Peak. Nearby places to visit are Roop Kund Lake, Sutol, Kanol Pass, Mundoli, Nanda Ghunti, Nandakini Valley and Kauri Pass. Trekking and mountaineering are the main attractions. Camps and rest houses are available here.

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport and the nearest railway station is at Rishikesh.
