Wan is a picturesque village situated 10 km from Lohajung in Chamoli District. It is located at an altitude of 2,500 m. The village lies on the Nanda Devi and Roop Kund trek route. It is surrounded by thick forests of rhododendron. Wan River flows nearby. The place offers a panoramic view of snow-clad peaks all around. Nearby places to visit are Sutol, Kanol Pass, Mundoli, Nandakini Valley, Ramni and Kauri Pass. Forest Rest House and Travellers Lodge are available for stay.

During the Nandadevi Rajjat festival villagers keep their house unlocked. This unique custom is observed in tune with the divine instruction of the Goddess Nandadevi.

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport and the nearest railway station is at Rishikesh.
