Kallar




Kallar is a picturesque village in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. The place gets its name from the Kallar River, which is 2 km downstream of the village. Kallu (referring stone) and Aru (meaning river) are two Malayalam words.

Renowned for round-shaped boulders and pebbles, Kallar is an ideal place for picnickers with an interest in trekking, angling and bird watching. Golden Valley and Meenmutti Waterfalls are the nearby attractions.

Kallar lies on the Thiruvananthapuram-Ponmudi route, around 55 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Trivandrum International Airport is 62 km away. Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station serves the village.
