Built in 1930, Kalaketty Estate Bungalow is a beautiful two storied country house, located in
Kanjirappally in
Kottayam District. It is situated in the middle of a 150 acre estate of a mixed plantation of rubber, coffee, cocoa,
tapioca, pepper, vanilla and paddy fields. The building is a combination of early Syrian Christian home architecture and traditional
Kerala style.
Rooms are spacious and richly furnished with timbered doors and windows. There is a library and a chapel; from the library one can step into the balcony for a panoramic view of the cultivated fields. Short Excursions to Munnar, Vagamon, and Maramala Waterfalls are arranged to the guests. Best time to visit the place is just after the monsoons.
Kottayam Railway Station is nearby and Cochin International Airport is 100 km away.
