Jathwara is a small rural township situated in
Pratapgarh District. It is about 21 km from Pratapgarh, the largest town in the district. Other places nearby are
Derwa (8 km west), Lalganj (16 km north) and Mau Aimma (20 km south).
A fair held at Sheetla Devi Temple in Manikpur on the 7th day of the bright half of Asadha attracts a large number of devotees. Manikpur is accessible from Jathwara by road via Derwa.
