Jashipur

The gateway of Similipal National Park, Jashipur is a small place in the tribal belt of Mayurbhanj District. The place is world famous for the tigress Khairi who was adopted by a forest official and spent all her days with him. The crocodile sanctuary at Ramtirtha near Jashipur is an additional attraction. Here, the crocodiles are bred and then released to keep the ecological balance. This is an ideal destination for tourists passing by this place, or those on their way to Similipal National Park.

Jashipur is around 95 km Baripada, the district headquarters. Regular bus services from Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, and other important places of the state connect Jashipur.
