Jameswara Temple




Built around the 12th century, Jameswara Temple is located to the south of Harichandi Street. Also known as Yamanaka Tirth, it enshrines the deity of Jameswara Shiva, the protector of Puri from the influence of Yama. The temple stands as the historical evidence for the rich cultural heritage of Puri.

Situated on the sea coast of the Bay of Bengal, Puri is 60 km from Bhubaneswar and 90 km from Cuttack. Puri can be accessed very easily from any part of India by road and rail.
