Yama




Yama is the controller, the god of justice and god of death. He is portrayed as a fierce looking man riding a black buffalo. The ruling god of the southern quarter, Yama wears red garments and carries mace and noose as his weapons. According to Hindu mythology, Yama reviews the deeds of men and accords punishment and he is aided in this task by Chitragupta who keeps an account of the deeds.
