Hatsal, also spelt Hashtsal, is a small village in the extreme western corner of Delhi
. It is located near Najafgarh
and is at 10 minutes drive from Dwarka
. Hatsal, literally means elephants' stable and during the reign of the Slave Dynasty
, this was a site for a very large stable for elephants. The sleepy village has the distinction of having a miniature replica of the Qutab Minar
. This medieval tower, known as Hatsal Minar (Hashtsal Minar), looks exactly like Qutab Minar, except for its height which is much lower than that of Qutab's. The tower is a protected monument.
