Sangithapura



This erstwhile capital of the Saluva Dynasty is 20 km from Bhatkal. This village otherwise called as Sangithapura, set amidst lush green forests, has very interesting Jain monuments. Among its ancient temples, the 14th century Padmavati temple houses an array of black stone statues of 24 Tirthankars, beautiful bell metal statues of Yakshi, Padmavati, Saraswati and Brahma on horseback.
