. It is the place where Banda Singh Bahadur, a disciple of Guru Gobind Singh, was brutally killed by the emperor Muhammad Farrukhsiyar. It is believed that Banda Singh, also known as Madho Das, was a wondering yogi who became a true follower of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of the Sikhs.
