New Delhi Railway Station




Of the three stations in Delhi, New Delhi Railway Station is a major railhead of Northern Railways. The station is situated towards the east of Paharganj and is only 2 km from Connaught Place. It is connected to the rest of the country by super-fast and express trains. Guwahati-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Jan Sadharan Express, Paschim Express, Vikramshila Express, Dehradun-Indore Express, Uttaranchal Express and Karnataka Express are some of the main train connections. Traveling towards the east of the station, the major railhead is at Ghaziabad (19 km) and going towards the south, the major railhead is at Gurgaon (31 km).

Computerized reservation facility is provided. There is a tourist information center on the premises. Indrail passes are available. On the first floor, there is an international tourist bureau which has a special booking office for foreigners.

Near the station, Paharganj and Janpath are the two main centers for accommodation. In the immediate vicinity of the station, Hotel Gold Regency and Hotel Tourist Deluxe offer fairly good accommodation. The main bus station, the Interstate Bus Terminal, is at Kashmiri Gate. The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport (25 km).
