Durga Peeli Amman Temple




Durga Peeli Amman Temple is situated inside the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campus in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The presiding deity here is Goddess Peeli Amman, an incarnation of Goddess Durga. Other deities worshipped here include Lord Ganesh, Lord Muruga and Navagrahas.

The temple organizes the 'Aadi Thiruvizha' festival in the Tamil month of Aadi (July-August). During the Navratri festival, the deity is taken out in procession and various ceremonies are conducted.

Jalakanteswarar Temple situated nearby is worth visiting.

Located midway between the Chennai International Airport and the Chennai Central Railway Station, Durga Peeli Amman Temple can be easily reached by bus from the Chennai Bus Station (14 km).
