Chumatang




Chumatang is a scenic village in Leh District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 14,980 ft above sea level and lies to the south-east of Leh. It is famous for hot sulphur springs.

Nior Nis in the west, Gangra in the north, Mahe in the east and Puga in the south are the locations nearby. The Indus River passes close to this village. Chumatang is a favorite track for adventurous bike riders.

The mountainous path through the Chumatang – Leh road (185 km) gives some breathtaking views and makes this place a photographer’s delight. One can also access this place from Mudil (12 km).
