Charang Temple

The Charang Temple, also known as Rangrik Tungma complex, is an eleventh century temple located behind Charang in Kinnaur District. Dedicated to Goddess Rangrik Tungma, the temple has a small metal image of the Goddess astride a horse.

There are two other bronze statues, Maitreya in bhadrasana posture and Buddha in bhumisparsha mudra. The walls of the main hall are linked with clay idols of the protective deities.

Charang is about 16 km from Lambar. Shimla Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
