Chamrajnagar District




Chamrajnagar District is situated in southern Karnataka, bordering by Tamil Nadu. The geographical area is 5,102 sq km. Kannada is the primary language. Other languages are Soliga and Tamil.

Chamrajnagar has many religious sites. The temple on the Mahadeshwara Hills is the most famous one, and the car festival attracts a large number of devotees. The southern part of the district is a protected national forest which is home to elephants, tigers, bears, deer, and other animals. The Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Hills and the Shivasamudram falls on the Kaveri (Cauvery) river are also located in Chamrajnagar District.
