Arulmigu Mari Amman Thirukoil




Arulmigu Mari Amman Thirukoil is located at Karuvalur, in Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the Mettupalayam-Erode Main Road, about 8 km from Avinashi.

This ancient temple enshrines Goddess Mariamman as presiding deity. Most noteworthy feature of the shrine is that the idol of the deity is installed in a standing position, than the usual sitting position in other Mariamman temples.

The architecture style of the temple is similar to that of the Nayaks period.

The main festivals celebrated here include Magara Puja, Mahaliamman Saattu, and Chithirai Kani Puja, which are celebrated in mid January - mid February, mid February - mid March and mid April - mid May respectively.
