Arulmigu Aranganathaswamy Temple

Arulmigu Aranganathaswamy Temple is located at Karamadai near Mettupalayam, on the Ooty road, which is about 30 km from Coimbatore city. Legends have it that once there lived a man, belonging to the Thottiya community, who owned a cow. All of a sudden, the cow stopped giving milk. The owner found that it was shedding milk on a bush. As soon as the angry owner started destroying the bush, an explosion was heard and blood started flowing from the spot. Hearing this news, the locals rushed to the spot and found a Shivling. A temple was built at that place, which is the present Arulmigu Aranganathaswamy Temple.

The temple remains open from 05:30 to 21:00 hrs daily.

Frequent buses are available from Coimbatore Bus Station to Mettupalayam.
