Arkavathi River




Arkavathi River, a tributary of the Cauvery River, originates from the 115671Nandi Hills in Karnataka. The total length of the river is about 161 km. Arkavathi River has a catchment area of about 4,351 sq km. Kumaudavathy, Manihalla, Kuttehole, Vrishabhavathy are its tributaries. The river joins the Cauvery at the Sangama near Kanakapura. The picturesque Chunchi waterfall which is on the Arkavathi River at Sangama near Kanakapura attracts numerous tourists.
