Chunchi Waterfall

Chunchi Waterfall is a one day outing spot in Bangalore Rural District. It is a tributary of the Kaveri and lying amidst rocky hills with shrub vegetation. The river flows through a small rocky valley called Mekedatu. It is known for the waterfall through a small gap between two rocks. The fall follows the confluence of two smaller streams that run down to the fall in cascades. Walking along the road or on the river is a pleasant experience.

Chunchi fall drops in two distinct cascades, one smaller and wider where the stream picks up momentum. Second one is more enchanting. One has to descend down the rocky patch, to reach the view point. Best time to visit the fall is early winter to early summer.
