Amtar Palace, 2 km from Nadaun, is on the left bank of the river Beas. It was the residence of Raja Sansar Chand, a great builder, who constructed the palace. The palace had been the ancient seat of the family after the loss of Kangra Fort to the Mughals. It houses some of the Kangra miniature paintings.
Nadaun is a pretty town 13 km from Jwalamukhi, 30 km from Kangra, and 56 km from Dharamsala.
