Aka

The Aka tribes are found mainly in Arunachal Pradesh, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Assam. They are called Akas after the black, sticky paint they apply on their face. Aka (now extinct) was the language they used in the Andaman and Nicobar Island. Aka Lel, a dialect of Nisi, is used by the Akas of Assam. The Nechido festival is celebrated annually on the first day of November by the Akas of Assam.
