Agara




Agara is an ancient village situated 9 km north of Thirthahalli. The history of this village dates back to the 14th century. This place was the capital of the province under the rule of Vijayanagara Empire and once served as the capital of the Jain Kingdom ruled by King Shanthara.

Thirthahalli is 60 km from Shimoga. Shimoga Town Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
