Achabam, in Dibrugarh District, is around 450 km east of Guwahati. The name of the place was derived from ‘acha’ meaning ‘good’ in Hindi and ‘bam’ meaning 'fertile highland' in Assamese. Achabam is well known for its tea estates. It is located near Naharkatia and is about 10 km from Namrup and 7 km from Jaipur.
