Coochbehar



Coochbehar, the administrative headquarters of Coochbehar District, is a historic town centered on the Sagardighi Lake. It is a beautifully planned city with an infrastructure comparable with any modern town. Siliguri is 140 km northwest of Coochbehar.

Places of tourist interest include Rajbari (Palace of the Kings), Madan Mohan Bari, Baradebi Bari, Siddhanath Siva temple (7 km), Baneswar Siva temple (10 km), Dangar Ayee Temple and Siddheswari Kali Bari (11 km).

Coochbehar has a domestic airport. Nearest international airport is at Kolkata. Regular trains connect the city with Siliguri, Kolkata, Jalpaiguri and Dhubri (61 km).
