Baneswar Shiva Temple




Located 10 km to north of Coochbehar, the Baneswar Shiva Temple is known for its architectural style apart from the religous aspect.

It enshrines a 'Shivaling' of 10 ft below the plinth level. Gouripat is also represented in the temple. Major festival celebrated here is the Siva Chaturdashi. A big mela is held for a week during the time.

An Ardhanariswar Temple is located nearby.
