Barkot




The junction point of Yamunotri and Har-Ki-Doon, Barkot is situated at an altitude of 1,828 m above sea level. It lies 40 km east of Dehradun on the highway to Rishikesh. It is a place of great scenic beauty, with apple orchards all around and the great Himalaya range forming the skyline. It affords a wonderful view of the Banderpunch Peak. Besides sightseeing, one can also visit the Lakshmi Narayan temple and the local market.

Barkot is accessible round the year. It is well connected by motor road with Uttarkashi (62 km), Rishikesh, and Dehradun.
