Ramabhar Stupa

Muktabandhana Stupa

Ramabhar Stupa, Muktabandhana Stupa, is a large stupa, which rises to a height of 49 feet. It is located 1 km from Mahaparinirvana Temple.

It marks the site where Lord Buddha was cremated. Ancient Buddhist scriptures refer this stupa as Mukut-Bandhan Vihar. It is believed that this stupa is built by the Malla rulers, who ruled Kushinagar during the death of Buddha. A small pond is located nearby.
